It’s still on! In spite of the record cold which has gripped much of the Northern hemisphere and has extended its icy reach all the way down to the Greater Houston area, local nonprofit Urban Harvest wants you to know that its annual fruit tree sale will continue as planned tomorrow, January 9 from 8 a.m. to noon.
The popular fruitstravaganza, which is held at Rice University’s football stadium, will feature over 70% more trees than last year thanks to Houstonians’ burgeoning interest in urban fruit farming. Popular tropical and citrus fruits might wilt at the mention of frost, but Urban Harvest has devised a plan to help you keep your plants bundled up on the way home. You can find a full list of the nearly 40 different fruit trees and shrubs which will be on sale here.
